Decarboxylation Quick Talk

In this video, MCR Labs’ Director of Compliance and Methodology Scott Churchill briefly explains the process of Decarboxylation.

Before applying heat by smoking, vaping, or cooking with cannabis, most strains contain relatively little THC, the primary psychoactive cannabinoid. Instead, the plant holds the precursor molecule THCA, which is not believed to be as involved in creating euphoric effects associated with THC.

We hope you enjoy our short exploration of decarboxylation and Scott’s explanation of how THCA becomes THC! We have a longer discussion of this process available on the resources page.

If you have any questions about decarboxylation or would like to see videos about specific cannabis science topics, let us know at yasha@mcrlabs.com!
